“If you don’t know what you will do, when you can do whatever you want, Right Now.

Then how can you possibly know what to do, when you can’t do whatever you want?”

Russell L. Ackoff

Improvement comes from the knowledge of understanding; What you will do if the system is destroyed. How will you change, rebuild, adjust?

If you have no idea how to improve and what changes to the system would make it effective, if the entire system is destroyed.

How can you expect to adjust the system for improvement right now, while you have the constraint of the system existing?

Quote from this amazing video“A Theory of a System for Educators and Managers” where Deming and Ackoff discuss quality transformation by developing an understanding of the properties and powers of systems-oriented thinking…you can the read the original post from Curious Cat Management Improvement.
