Team Building and Employee Engagement Day

Had the honor of working with Pictometry from Rochester NY. The images and comments are from a full day Team Building & Employee Engagement Kick-Off program held at the Rochester Institute of Technology RIT .

Outcomes of the Team Building included;

Have fun and connect in an informal environment
Discussions and identification of what’s working and what to do more of that is working well
Action planning for the future of the department as the employees see it and steps to achieve that future
Enhanced employee engagement to Pictometry, their managers and each other

“I mostly noticed how different people approach problems. Some people will subvert the rules, some people parse rules carefully, and some people will adhere to the spirit or intent of the rules. This is extremely useful to know about the people around me.”

“I mostly learned more about the personalities of who I work with and interact with on a regular basis. It was great seeing some of the older folks be silly and involved. Some ideas were based off of the model that was given and words that Mike had to say. I like the idea of always improving and striving for high performance.”

“I honestly went into it very negative, not excited about it at all. By the end I was very satisfied. I actually met and interacted with people I never see.”

“The instructors energy and positive attitude was infectious for the group, helping people get outside of their box and have meaningful participation.”

“I learned that not only are the people within my department a great group of people, but the entire group of operations is as well. Knowing this and maintaining that attitude will be beneficial when working with people outside my department.”

“I gained relationships with fellow employees that I didn’t previously possess. I was able to work well in a team setting to accomplish a common goal. I was able to unwind and enjoy myself outside of work with my fellow employees and managers.”

“It was nice to have everyone on the same level that day pitching ideas. I now feel I can approach some of the “big wigs” without hesitation.”

“I saw, from the exercises we did, that Operations is a pretty good team already in and of its self. Creative, willing to work together to succeed and improve.”
