Things change without support from Sr Management. Most change is stemming from workarounds created to avoid the perceived bad ideas from Sr Management change initiatives.
Work does not get done according to a solipsistic vision… Work gets done through the interactions of people who have discovered what works best for them in achieving a certain goal / task.
There is nothing wrong with just doing a SWOT… The concern is that without some of the above information you are making strategy based upon limited knowledge and understanding. With limited knowledge and understanding you may miss or not be able to capture opportunities when they present themselves.
The person cannot know what you are looking for. Only you, and the management team can know.
