When people do not feel they have influence they stop supplying feedback
If people do not feel that they have some upward influence on their manager over time they will stop supplying advice or feedback.

Other people are entitled to their beliefs, opinions, ideas, etc.. even if they are wrong. And they don’t want to enter into a challenging discussion to discover new intellect or ideas.
I am sure that you have been there (on either end) it generally ends in someone being called an ASSHOLE and hurt or ruined friendships, relationship, etc…
“When someone else is talking about what they learned and how they can apply it. SHUT UP! and let them speak. Your solution and ideas mean NOTHING to the person speaking. We all have to apply lessons through our own context. Your context means nothing to me.”
Have you ever spoken to someone and politely listened, then when you leave not a word was understood? They were speaking in English (or the a language you understand) and what was said you just don’t understand. You would have been better off not talking to this person at all.
