10/15 – Conference Day

Thinking Differently – Enabling Innovation :: 1:30-2:30pm

Overview

Competitive demands require quicker, more effective and innovative problem solving. Problem solvers are required to quickly provide solutions to increasingly complex problems, develop and design new and innovative products and processes – and at the same time, reduce operating time and costs.

Creative thinking is a critical skill required by all people within their roles at work. It is often done by trial and error – the thinker creates an idea and determines if it will work. Not only is trial and error limited by personal knowledge, thinking is also constrained by a “stuckness” in how things are and how they should be.

Outcomes from Thinking Differently – Enabling Innovation

  • Understanding and various uses of Nine Windows, a TRIZ inventive problem solving tool.
  • Diminished “stuckness” in your thinking
  • Increased pace of problem solving
  • More effective discussions with others to help them think differently

10/16 – Full Day Seminar

Three Tools to Create Stability in Turbulent Times :: 8:30 – 4:30

Stepping out of a state of overwhelm and anxiety during these challenging and changing times is not always easy. Burnout and stress increase when people do not have effective tools and skills to manage work demands and when they don’t know how to move from “survival anxiety” to “change anxiety”.

Organizations are not always in control of the change when it is directed by Federal or State regulations or other outside forces. In support of this process for your organizations and your teams, this crash course in the solution-focused change process gives you three tools you can put into practice to address change in a solution-focused way.

Content is for those new to this topic as well as those who already use it and need a “tune-up” to get them going again!

Specific time will be allocated to each of the three tools specified in the learning objectives below.

People will leave with:

  • Tool 1: Action planning- what to do before, during, and after a change
  • Tool 2: Implementing the 5 Steps to Plan a Change
  • Tool 3: Communicating with and engaging those whose help you need to make changes
