Leadership is choices

Teams consist of people working together towards a goal that 1 person cannot complete by themselves. Thinking of a team as a system, changing 1 part (person) in that system will affect the team as a whole.

Thank People for Doing Their Work

Managers you need to STOP your false-belief that you should not thank people for doing their work. Thanking people goes a long way, and showing your appreciation is what you must do, if people are too continue to do their best work.

Competence + Organizational Support = Successful Teams and People

In other words…with the right organizational circumstances where a person who is competent in their role with leadership accountability, people progress together; the progression together touches the deep-seated value for social cohesion.

Where are the deeper questions?

We think that “deep” responses come from “deep” questions, not true. Responses can be at the proper depth that the person answering the question feels is necessary, it has very little to do with the question.

SOLVED Solution-Focused

The value in this method is that by focusing on what you want the solution to be as opposed to focusing on the problem, your energy and focus can be put into developing action steps towards the solution. The problem is known and acknowledged AND the solution is found in examining what you know, what resources you have and need in order to solve your problems in your context and in learning how to continually improve.

Within Work Nothing Happens All The Time There Are Exceptions

It has happened to all of us, someone at work (your manager, coworker, subordinate, peer, vendor, customer, etc…) pisses you off and you go off an angry tirade about how resistant and uncooperative they are.
On and on and on.
While these statements may be true, they are not really useful in creating any solutions and changes to getting your work done.

I am right you are wrong can we have an open discussion

The issue starts when, for some crazy reason (which is not so crazy) we feel a need to prove that our view is the right one, while at the same time saying and truly believing you want to have an open discussion.
